The seeds are washed and then parched before grinding into powder form. In Jamaica the seeds are used to make tea. The tea has a coffee like taste and is very delicious.
In the rural areas of Jamaica, we are given this lovely tea with similar taste to coffee, called Cassia coffee. Cassia Coffee is coffee prepared from roasted seeds of dandelion/cassia occidentalis. It regulates blood sugar and cholesterol, and this is very good for diabetic and hypertensive patients. It is very good for middle-aged men to maintain and prevent them from prostrate disease, and make men strong, even in sexual performance.
